  • Whenever you stay at the Westin, you know your accommodations are going to be nice. Upon arrival, A bell man helps you with your bag immediately. There was no line to check in when I arrived and I was greeted by a lovely young lady by the name of Cynthia. She was so sweet checking me in and so helpful. She said since I was an award member, they were going to upgrade my room and put me in a king suite in the tower. Also, she gave me a $20 gift card to go eat dinner at one of the restaurants there. After a long day of travel, whoever greets you and your check and experience is important. I didn't get a chance to really explore outside the territory of our hotel due to the fact that it was so freezing cold and below zero. My LA skin couldn't handle it. However, I know we are about 20 minutes from downtown and there isn't really anything around this hotel specifically. If you are looking to host an event they have several ballrooms available to do that. I was there on a work trip-dance convention. The amenities are agreeable. The room has Wi-Fi available. You need to hook up and then go into your browser in order to get it started. I had a difficult time with it at first and then called the troubleshooting hotline and got right on. There is a refrigerator and a safe in your room. Ladies-there is a blow dryer and an iron. There is also a tub that is separate from the shower. There's an adjustable showerhead, you can either have it on pulse or on on raindrop. They supply you with coffee and a coffee maker in your room as well as standard toiletries. They have room service available 24/7 as well as four different restaurants within. Their room service gets there very fast, as well as housekeeping gets there fast if you need anything. I needed more blankets as the heat seems like it doesn't work at all. I had it on 90°F the entire time and it still seemed freezing in here. The food is delicious but on the pricey side. Be careful, when you get room service the tip is already included. Also included is a room service fee in addition to tax. So it adds up fast. If you choose not to have housekeeping come by, they will give you a five dollar gift card each day that you choose to do that. That's what I did. That way, your room isn't getting cleaned, but you can still call housekeeping if you need anything send up like clean towels. There are four restaurants - Canadian food, Persian food, Chinese food, and Japanese food. The only restaurant I attended is Katsura- the Japanese food restaurant. I would not recommend that. See review below. There is a gift store that has really odd hours, and also a jewelry store that is pretty small. There is a work out/fitness center as well as a hot tub. The outdoor pool is closed for winter seasons. (Obviously). The elevators are fast and efficient, never had to wait. Check in and check out was a breeze. Overall, this would've had a higher review if the heat worked well. Spent my entire weekend freezing, which is to be expected when traveling to Toronto in the middle of winter but I was hoping for a little heat my hotel room. Also, they need a café of sorts. I wish that there is somewhat of a Starbucks there so you can get a quick coffee and small bite to eat. There's no available places to get snacks. I ended up only getting two big meals a day skipping lunch and no snacks because there really weren't any healthy snacks available. Only unhealthy snacks at the gift store which was never open. The great things about the hotel is that it's clean, nice, and the service is awesome!
