  • In the middle of Phoenix, who would expect an Ocean! As you walk in you greeted by unique overhanging Aquariums. And then are encouraged to use the restroom, not like Mom and Dad reminding you, but the wall of the restroom over the sinks are a tank with some pretty amazing close up Sharks with about 4 or 5 varieties! (I had learn to scuba and fly to Honduras to get that close!) There are more fresh water tanks than I expected and learned about a few creatures I did not know existed in fresh water. Lion Fish, Sea Horses and Crabs oh my, as expected!! Then there is a moving Carousel 'Theater' that seats 3 groups of about 100, and rotates between exhibits with the first 'speaker' in the tank with a Snuba helmet on, which will be available for patrons to do in a few weeks! Also, I did not see any of the 'dead fish' or 'green tanks' that were mentioned in previous reviews. I think the start up of this kind exhibit has its challenges (a docent explained that a lot has to be adjusted each time new animals are added) and reaches 'equilibrium' pretty quickly...... All in all a great experience the kids will enjoy!!
