  • While here in Phoenix on business, I happened upon this gem of a restaurant while staying at the Crown Plaza/Chandler Golf Resort which is across the street. The server Joe was fantastic and the staff amazing. I also happened to be here, alone on my birthday. My darling other half, found out where I was dining and conspired with the staff to to surprise me with a birthday creme brûlée. Talk about going above and beyond! That is even before I can share my review of the food. I had an antipasti of prosciutto wrapped mozzarella baked under a crust of sautéed mushroom and Italian bread crumbs. Outstanding dish. I followed that with a bowl of pasta fagioli. Although the broth was thinner than the past fagiolis back in New England, the amount of flavor packed in each spoonful was delicious. My entree, Pollo a Marsalla, was great- the two butter tender chicken breasts where in a Marsala mushroom sauce that had a ton of mushrooms and absolutely spot on for flavor. The side of summer vegetables and potatoes were tender and I could have eaten just a bowl of those. The whole dish felt like something your Italian grandmother would serve. I hear their pizza is really good to... will definitely visit again while I am in town.
