  • Over a month ago my German Shepherd, Bane, got sick. We took him to our previous vet and an emergency vet and we still didn't have answers even after a number of tests had been completed. I started doing research about other vets and I stumbled across Phoenix Dog/Cat/Bird Hospital. I called on a Saturday to try and get an appointment for sometime that week and I talked to a tech that day that asked if I could come in next few hours. By the time we got there they had already received Bane's records and Dr. Giffords had already reviewed his records. Dr. Giffords blew us away and it was a breath of fresh air to find a doctor like him. He came up with a plan to start with Bane, well let's just say it seemed like we became family instantly. We were in constant contact with Dr. Giffords and based on what was going on with Bane he would change the course of treatment for Bane. Bane spent a lot of time at their hospital, I would drop him off in the morning before work and picked him up after but every time I came in everyone was so nice and all the techs actually knew Bane because they spent time with him and you could tell. Kayla was amazing, every night I came in she would tell me about how Bane did that today and would always take her time explaining any medicine or take home instructions for him. No less I would always have a detailed conversation with Dr. Giffords about what the next plan was. Bane unfortunately took a turn for worse and Dr. Giffords and Kayla came to the house to pick him up. Bane then spent a few nights actually at their hospital and everyday we would get a phone calls from Dr. Giffords and Kayla letting us know what was going on and how he did that day. Let's just say Bane enjoyed every minute he was there, I call it the Rockstar treatment is what they gave him. We ended up saying our goodbyes to Bane last week and Dr. Giffords, Dr. Sosnow and Kalya came to the house to help Bane cross over. It was heartbreaking but I knew Bane received the best of care for last month of his life. The compassion that Dr. Giffords and Dr. Sosnow have is incredible! They cared for Bane like he was their own, like no other vets have done before. They are stuck with us now because I can't see anyone else caring for our dogs besides Dr. Giffords, Dr. Sosnow and their staff. Thank you so much for all you guys have done for our family, and for the extra time we got with Bane was priceless.
