| - Really Phoenix? This is some of the best you got?
Meh. MEH. I'm grumpy cat all over this place.
First of all, the valet situation was poor. I understand that the valets want to control traffic flow during busy hours, but when it's not busy, making me turn around and pull back around front is ridiculous. Then, to refuse to park my car is flat out dumb. Another reason why I dislike valets and restaurants that use them when there's not a direct need.
So at least my husband got a nice, breezy table outside on the patio while I parked. I'll give them points for atmosphere, but alot of the credit must go to the amazing Arizona spring weather. We started off with the fondue, our usual when out in Arizona, where it oddly is served everywhere. The pretzel was warm and freshly baked, but you'll notice I'm complimenting the dipper, not the dip. The fondue, while creamy, also had the distinctive cornstarch note known to appease all lovers of cheese fondue. MEH. For dinner, I tried out the country vegetable chop. All of the veggies (corn, peas, okra, asparagus, kale, carrots, radishes) were all fresh and light. The homemade buttermilk dressing was remarkably light. Delicious all around, but not enough to to appease me after the random valet issues, mediocre service, and poorly done cheese fondue.
