  • When I first wrote this review back in March of this year, something was screwed up with Yelp and the Home2 Suites' page was mixed up with the one for Homewood Suites. If you go to the latter's Yelp page, you'll see a few more Home2 reviews. I wanted to wait until the whole thing was sorted out before leaving my thoughts: The first time I stayed at the Champaign Home2 Suites was about 3 weeks after they opened in February 2016. My night there was so nice that I wanted to not leave a review at all, just so that I could try to keep the secret of this hotel all to myself. But understanding that that's not how the internet works, here are my two cents: this is, hands-down, one of the nicest hotels in Champaign. The rooms are beautiful and have plenty of outlets and lighting. The sheets are softer than anything. There's even a full-size kitchenette with a huge fridge, microwave, real dishes/silverware, and a cooktop you can rent in case you want to do some cooking. So much attention to detail has been paid with everything, from the seating to the storage to the decor. The staff was warm and accommodating, both during an early check-in and when I got back to the hotel after midnight. They're friendly folks with a memory for faces and a desire to make sure everything goes well with your stay. Breakfast in the morning is delicious - there are definitely more options than you'd usually find in similarly-priced hotels, and the staff are always willing to get something for you if needed. The coffee station in the lobby is also very nice, although I'd like to have 16-oz cups so I wouldn't need to make a second trip for more coffee. Since that's my only real complaint, I think I'll tough it out and bring a larger coffee mug the next time I stay. Other, very small gripes include the fact that there are only queen beds available, so if you're used to a king bed you may feel a bit cramped. Also, the water temperature was a little inconsistent the last time I used the shower. That being said, I've stayed here many times since my first visit. I do believe the price has gone up since my last trip to Champaign, but even so I'd consider staying here. You can't go wrong with making a reservation at the Home2 Suites.
