  • Three stars for what it is. I am not sure who the owner is, but let's assume this supermarket is an independent. If it is they have pretty good prices for an independent supermarket with the bag of rice priced exactly the same as T&T, fruit same, cans higher, a few specials lower, etc. The selection is pretty nifty for Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese and even Japanese goods. In terms of atmosphere it is pretty depressing with the same ugly lighting, standard East Asian supermarket smell where it every time seems as if the fridge temperatures need to be higher so the meat doesn't smell funky and a few produce items already past due. The winter mushrooms were not past due and were so cheap I took four packages to cook. Finally, at the cash I was given one nylon bag. When I asked for an extra one for the bag of rice I had picked up (it is 7 kilos and does not have a handle!) the cashier's response was "why? for what??" Apparently, she was either a good employee or been instructed by the manager to save on bags or was presenting her usual nifty customer service.
