  • Our experience with the service at this joint was horrendous today. First the greeter attempted to seat us near the front door where the cold air was blowing in. There were plenty of empty tables or booths further in. Reluctantly the greeter seated us just a slight bit further from the front. The place then started to pack and the chaos began. Instead of waiting for the dim sum carts to come around, the other customers either redirected the carts to their table or went up to the carts to pick their food. Some crowded at the counter and grabbing food from there. There was no civility or order. It was like a horde of starving people in a soup kitchen. We managed to get some dishes off a near empty cart that came by. I thought eating dim sum or yum cha is supposed to be a relaxing experience when friends can chat over the meal. I tried to order food off the menu from a server, he just walked away and never came back. After 15 minutes with no carts coming to our area, I finally got the attention of another server. I asked him why the carts are not coming over. He didn't answer. I told him to bring us the bill and we are leaving. His response was "Good, leave". I take back my previous rating and changed it to one star because this type of service. During our previous visit, Elaine who I believe to be the manager had asked us to each recommend 3 friends to patronize this joint. If Elaine or staff member of this joint read this review update (which I doubt), we will tell our friends not to patronize this joint. Today was within the winter holiday, it appears most of today's customers were from out-of-town. This joint's owner or manager should realize it is the locals that support their business year round. We are taking our business back to Chang's down the street.
