| - I don't get to go here as often as I would like since I'm not into most mainstream films that are being released, but you absolutely can't beat the prices on either the tickets ($5 all day Monday-Thursday, $5 matinees on weekend, $7 weekend evenings), or the concessions. I do try to get there at least once every month or two though. For a first run theatre, I doubt you can get better prices anywhere in town. The workers are always friendly and personable, and they care about the quality. In January 2012, I saw Sherlock Holmes 2 here, for example, and for one 15 - 20 second period, there with a bit of scratchiness to the audio. It didn't take away from the audio at all, there was just some crackles on top of it. After the film ended, the worker on duty (perhaps a manager?) met us as we were exiting and insisted we take two free passes to make up for the problem. We said that wasn't necessary at all and that we had no problems, but he insisted.
In short, I'd rather go here than deal with the tunnel to go to the Waterfront or all the way out to Pittsburgh Mills (I absolutely hate the Waterworks theatre in Fox Chapel, so that's not an option either). It's not the same experience as the big stadium seating theatres, but it's not as obnoxious as they are either. Give it a chance, especially if you have kids because they reliably seem to get animated films and other kid's movies the first or second week of release.
