I made the unfortunate decision to visit this dealership while shopping for an F150.
All stereotypes of shady car salesmanship are true here. RUN FAR AWAY FROM CAMELBACK FORD.
1. My salesman Thomas played all sorts of typical games, as soon as we started talking numbers for my trade-in made me wait 30+ minutes standing around and talking. I finally had to stand up and walk out the door to get anyone's attention.
2. The floor sales manager quoted me (what I found out later) was TWICE the wholesale fair price in attempt to stop me from purchasing elsewhere. The whole "Before you accept less than ______ come back here". This number was not only more than a realistic retail number I could get selling myself, but was ridiculously high and they were lying. It was not a real offer.
3. I told them I was going to Bill Luke next door and they "recommended" a salesperson there. They then called this person at Bill Luke and had a guy waiting outside to scoop me in to send me to this person. Obviously they thought I (as a young female) would be stupid enough for this trick. The last thing I need are two competing salespeople price fixing. I ran from Bill Luke also after this.
4. My second stop back into the store (when I almost bought a brand new truck) I was LIED TO REPEATEDLY. They told me there were only 2 trucks in the country that had the features I wanted, and "they were both on the east coast". Thank god I left. Autonation Ford Scottsdale had 2 on their lot alone. LIES from Ford Camelback!
5. The reason I ultimately left was the final game they played, making me wait 45 minutes plus to even get the negotiating started. Ridiculous.
Go to Autonation Ford Scottsdale. They were honest and fair. 3x the selection. Modern, easy, car sales. Camelback Ford is stuck in the shady games of old school car sales.
