I was admitted on Friday to have my gallbladder removed. This wasn't a planned surgery so there was a little bit of miscommunication about what day it would be happening. I was originally told Friday but late afternoon was told it would be Saturday. It took a really long time to figure out what time my surgery would be on Saturday. This was the only frustrating part of my stay.
Your hospitalist, Dr. Shahlapour was the first doctor I interacted with at your hospital. He answered questions, responded quickly to my concerns and was an overall friendly person. He's a great ambassador for your hospital. I saw him each morning that I was there.
I had a fantastic team of nurses. Special shout out to Anna, Iris and Christie on the 4th floor. I had Anna for the majority of the time and she always made me feel at ease. Barbara and Stephany were great in pre-op too. I'm sure my recovery nurse was great but I don't remember her. My husband said I talked a lot in recovery but I have no knowledge of it. So thanks recovery nurse for listening to me.
My surgery went well. I'm in pain but I think that's normal right after you have an organ pulled through your belly button.
I have no complaints with any interaction I had during my stay.
I have a follow up with my surgeon in a week and am looking forward to healing.
