Happy birthday to me. I was taken here for my birthday dinner by two of my work friends. I have not been here in a really long time. I always enjoyed their food and their drinks so I was happy that it was suggested.
We made reservations, but were an hour late due to the rainstorm. They still had room for us and were so nice about it. We started with the Yucatan Hot Bean Dip and the Mussels. The bean dip was amazing. The chips were fresh and warm and the dip had a great taste to it. Yum. The Mussels were my pick and they were just ok. The sauce was amazing, we were even dipping our chips from the bean dip into the sauce. The mussels were too small. I love mussels and I am not saying that I am someone who really knows all about mussels but these were really little and about half of the mussels were empty.
For my dinner I ordered the Tropical Paella. It had chicken, chorizo, shrimp, scallops, mussels, peas, pineapples, and red peppers. I love paella. This had a nice good taste to it but it had too much tomato and it overtook the dish. I did not see/taste any scallops which to me would mean that they were so small that I couldn't detect them. The pineapples were not overbearing and they were a nice added ting of sweetness. The mussels also were the same as the appetizer, small and sad. Overall the meal was really nice and I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed the food. I enjoyed my drink. I enjoyed the experience.
