What a disappointment:( I have been going to Tokyo Express for about 30 years. I hadn't visited this location in quite a few months and I can guarantee that after tonight it will be my last. When I arrived it wasn't busy. It never really gets that busy. This was at about 6:45 pm. I went to place my order for sukiyaki and Inari. I asked for a container for gomasio, a condiment they have always had and I was told by the woman at the front counter that they didn't have it. They have always had it! Gomasio - black sesame seeds and salt! It's a staple at this restaurant! However I figured it was just a small thing. Then I asked that they not put tofu in my daughter's sukiyaki. She then said we don't use tofu! I looked at her..... I thought am I at Tokyo Express? Sirloin Steak, Tofu, Onion, Rice Noodles, Rice. I've been eating this since I was 11, but okay, still placed my order. I waited and waited and waited. I watched the front counter woman go to the back and help the one cool start cooking. She then came back around to the counter called a couple numbers and went back again. When she came back she started asking the three of us still waiting for our food what our numbers were and what we ordered. When she got to me I told her and she said, "oh it's ready, it's right here!" It had been sitting on the counter in a to go bag for a good 5 minutes before she had realized it was for someone sitting in the restaurant waiting. I had waited 30-40 minutes for my food. Thank goodness it was Inari and not California Rolls! Anyway unfortunately it was dry and had a lot of onion in it, more than usual. No green onion either. If I return to Tokyo Express it will be to the on 51st Ave and Indian School.
