  • I did not have a good experience with this moving company. Firstly, they have a policy where the movers give you a two-hour window during which they will start the move. This policy does not work with anyone moving into or out of a condo since elevators get booked in 2 hour time slots. The worst part about this is, they didn't even tell me about this when I booked the move. They told me the movers would arrive at a precise time. The only reason I found out about this policy is because when I called a few days before to confirm, the same person who booked my move originally (I recognized his voice) told me that they would be arriving not at a precise time like he had promised before, but during a 2-hour window, jeopardizing my elevator booking. He even had the audacity to tell me I had spoken to someone else when I knew it was him (he has a very recognizable voice). When they finished moving, we breathed an audible sigh of relief. Before this stage of the move with El Cheapo, this move had been a disaster up until this point (we had to move everything into a storage unit, and then into our apartment because of a lack of elevator bookings), and we had been moving for 4 days already. We hired the movers for this final leg because we had already moved so much. Because we were so tired from the 4 days of moving, we didn't help them much (which is why we paid them hundreds of dollars for the move). When we did that audible sigh of relief, the mover sarcastically said, "oh, you're making it seem like YOU'RE tired" (implying that they did all the moving, so why are you sighing with relief?). I'm sorry, but we paid you several hundred dollars so that you could move. You are a moving company. Why are you complaining about moving? What's more, aren't we entitled to be relieved that all of our stuff had been moved in? This comment of his was extremely rude. To top it all off, when the mover was writing out the invoice, he had the gall to ask my girlfriend if we would be leaving a tip today, even before we had the chance to think about it. This made her feel very uncomfortable. Using pressure tactics to solicit a tip is not acceptable. Although the move went fairly smoothly and nothing was broken, this move could have been a disaster if we didn't pressure them to arrive at a precise time; we could have missed our elevator booking. Furthermore, their customer service skills leave a lot to be desired. Our experience with this moving company was poor.
