| - Why did I opt to switch practices halfway through a chaotic third trimester? And double the travel time for my twice-a-week appointments? Because I freaking love Tiffany Jackson. I met her halfway through my first pregnancy when she joined her previous practice. She ended up delivering my son, and the experience was nothing short of perfect. So when I found out she accepted a new position with MomDoc Midwives, it was a no-brainer decision to follow her there to continue my care.
I'll be honest. I was pretty nervous about moving to a new place this late in the game. All the paperwork, new location, new people, etc. But so far, my experience has been nothing short of stellar. As soon as I found out Tiffany was moving, I called to schedule an appointment. They were able to get me in soon enough to pick up right where I'd left off at the previous practice (pleasant surprise, sometimes doctors offices have a wait period for brand new patients).
Tiffany was not yet on the schedule on the day I needed to come in, so I saw another midwife, Monica Reno. She is a doll! It was obvious that she'd spent time reviewing my records, because she came in and was familiar with my health history and knew exactly what the "game plan" was for this pregnancy. I had a few health questions and concerns that I brought up and she addressed them thoroughly and compassionately. The appointment didn't feel rushed at all, which earned huge bonus points with me.
I should also mention Ramona Joseph. I saw her for pre-natal care during my first pregnancy (before she moved to MomDoc). I absolutely adore Ramona. She is genuinely kind and very easy to talk to. Her reassurance and encouragement was a huge help to me during my first pregnancy. I remember my very first appointment with her... I walked in completely terrified and nervous... and left feeling totally confident and excited. (Thank you, Ramona!)
Also worth mentioning is the GORGEOUS office. You walk in and the waiting area looks like a comfortable living room. In fact, so comfortable, that I'm a little bummed the wait times aren't longer. The exam rooms are adorable, too. They are happy and cheerful, they don't feel all "medically" AT ALL. I got to do my NST monitoring while sitting in a plush leather rocker, which was a million times more comfortable than trying to relax on an exam table... oh my gosh, it's totally the little things. I LOVE IT.
