After dinner we went to the Titanic exhibition at the Luxor. This one was Peter's suggestion. I will be honest in saying that I was a little skeptical on whether or not this exhibition would be worth it. Instead of paying $70 for two tickets we ended up only paying $47 through a discount ticket booth we saw on The Strip.
It's half the size as the Seattle exhibition but there's enough to see and read for an hour. I read faster than Peter, therefore, I finished it in 45 minutes. I found myself waiting multiple times for Peter to catch up.
I was there to mostly see the kitchen items, most of which were well preserved. The class destination between how each ate was fascinating.
The exhibition will make you cry cause when you see some of the personal artifacts it puts a more realistic feeling behind the person.
At the end of exhibition the staff allowed us to shoot the shit with them (when everyone had left)so that we could discuss conspiracy theories.
My personal fascination has to do with science and the physics behind the breaking and sinking of the ship. The social class political theories as to why certain people were chosen to survive over others has been a black hole hobby of mine for years.
Peter and I love conspiracy theories.
Few that were discussed:
They had only enough life boats to save a third of the passengers to deliberately leave the third class citizens behind.
Each life boat only carried 2-3 people when 5-6 could've easily fit on each life boat. After the women and children boarded for safety the lower third class were denied space on the life boats as the upper class didn't want to share a boat with social scum.
The Titanic never actually sank. It was the Olympic that was the sister ship that they tried to sink for insurance purposes. The two vessels were supposedly switched before voyage even though layout plans for the Olympic have never been seen.
They deliberately sank the Titanic to kill some prominent bankers involved in US opposition which makes sense considering that they had a 10 hour warning of ice bergs ahead and still headed into the direction of disaster.
The after hours shooting the shit when the last tourist left was well worth the ticket price alone.
