We went on this hike mid November, and overall enjoyed it. Nice to get out of vegas, away from the cactus and see some real pine trees. Plus it's only 55 minutes from our house in henderson, nv.
Quick facts:
1. What to bring: Bring layers because you might be warm at the beginning but when you're in shade it can drop 10-15 degrees.
2. Bring water. 1l per person was great for us.
3. Workout shoes are sufficient.
4. The waterfall wasn't more than a trickle so you choose if you want to bring the camera.
About the hike: It took us about 40 mins up and 35 mins down. Has plenty of switch backs. It's not very peaceful, since people bring they're own music (annoying leave it at home you're in nature trying to get AWAY from all that). Kids 7-10 were killing it, so if they've got energy to burn bring 'em.
