IMO this is one of the worst of the organic food stores in Calgary. They are terribly inconsistent with their stock availability. Do Not count on this store to have your favorite items even if you've bought a particular item for a couple of years.
They consistently ask if you've found everything you needed. If you answer "no" they'll make a big deal about following up and swear they'll call you back. But 9 out of 10 times they don't. I know. I've tried numerous times. It's pointless to waste your time interacting with them about stock availability.
Their best point is that, for the most part, their staff are very nice people. Probably the only thing that keeps me shopping here is that it's close to where I live and the employees are normally pleasant, friendly, helpful people. Otherwise I'd have given them one star.
However there is an employee there who sometimes cashiers and who specializes in being a difficult person. When I go to pay she insists on taking my credit card away (has actually yanked it from my grasp) then requires additional ID every time I go there even if she knows me and I've been through her till countless times. [There has never been any problems with my card but she always treats me like I'm there to commit fraud]
I told management that the prospect of dealing with this woman was so unpleasant that I'd begun avoiding the store completely. The manager immediately knew who I meant, was very understanding, and made things right with me as best he could. However she did not stop being a problem thereafter.
I later wondered if there might be a method to her madness when it occurred to me that if she can discourage people from using credit cards by making it an unpleasant experience -- perhaps the store pays less commission for debit cards. Perhaps she thinks that is a clever way to improve the stores profits. I don't know but her behavior is so unnaturally toxic I can't help but think there's a hidden agenda.
My most recent complaint about shopping here has been the produce.
Why? Because I've bought the exact same brands from other stores but the produce lasts longer when I get it elsewhere.. Normally a box of fresh salad mix will last 5 to 7 days in the fridge before beginning to rot. Regardless of which day of the week I get it from this store -- it's going bad within 1 to 2 days -- consistently. That was not the case until a couple months ago.
