The last stay at Luxor was just slightly below average. It shows the hotel has seen a lot of traffic over the years and MGM isn't doing anything about it. One thing that stands out is the lobby and the Egyptian motif all around the hotel part but that's where it ends. The rest of the hotel has seen better days, particularly back in the 90's when Circus Enterprises owned the Luxor. It's a good benefit to have free parking and a VIP line to check in when you have the Mlife Credit Card. Automatically you're upgraded to Sapphire though I go to Vegas often and spend a lot in their casinos and hotels; I'm already a Gold.
Mlife has always sent me offers for complimentary shows to Park Theater and the MGM Grand Arena. The only reason I book the shows through Luxor is because it's easier to get the tickets other than booking through a higher tier hotel. Honestly, I have no choice when it comes to booking shows unless I want to downgrade to Excalibur. So booking show offers through Luxor is the only reason why I stay there. I mostly stay at the Mirage or Bellagio.
I've stayed in the newly renovated Cleo rooms which is worth the upgrade. Those rooms are located in the upper floors of the pyramid. The deluxe rooms are nothing home to write about. Let's face it! You're only in the room to sleep and shower. I did have a good nights sleep after the 311 concert at Park MGM when it finished after midnight.
A few fast food court restaurants are open 24/7. The Luxor cafe use to be open 24/7 till they cut back the hours to save money. The timeshare people in the lobby never bothered me whenever I walked past them. Phew! Hopefully MGM renovates the rest of the pyramid rooms. I know the Tower rooms are almost finished. This is a no frills Mlife property! Nothing much to see or do here unless you're watching Carrot Top or just in awe of the atrium inside the pyramid.
