| - Avoid this dealership. Here's my experience: I was looking for a particular car and located what I was looking for in San Diego. I contacted the local dealerships to see if anyone had what I wanted close by, and ended up talking to someone at Earnhardt Lexus. They said they could get what I wanted and asked me to come in. It turned out that they had found the same car I was looking at in San Diego and planned to trade for it, but I didn't realize that initially. When I was there, they agreed to match the price of the San Diego dealer, and we even signed paperwork with a price. Once I did that, Tim Kocsis came out and said they could only sell it to me for $1000 more than they had already agreed to. I asked why I would pay him $1000 more for the same car when I could just buy it from the dealer in San Diego, and he leaned back, crossed his arms, and said smugly, "You can't buy it from them anymore. It's my car now. I just called them and traded for it." I told him I wouldn't pay any more than we had agreed on, and after he made a number of other condescending comments, I left the dealership. I called the San Diego dealer from the Earnhardt Lexus parking lot and bought "his car." He didn't win this battle (that car is sitting in my garage now), but after his extortion attempt, I won't go near this dealership and will warn anyone I know who is in the market for a Lexus.
