Everyone talks about the Peppermill but I've avoided going because I don't really like diner food. My mom and I finally made the trip last night and although the food isn't anything special, the atmosphere and service was pretty awesome. On the outside it looks like a Sizzler. On the inside, it looks like a retro Vegas hotel bar. We decided to get drinks in the bar instead of being seated in the restaurant. As soon as we sat down a regular (I assume) told the bartender he would buy my mom and I drinks. I ordered a martini and the bartender asked everything from what type of vodka I wanted to shaken or stirred to what garnish I preferred. Stoli, shaken, olives. And I got 3 olives at that. We played video poker at the bar while 90s and 2000s music videos played on a TV at the center of the bar. It was relatively quiet on a Tuesday night but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The bar only serves appetizers so we ordered the sliders and 10 hot wings. Again our bartender asked us a series of questions about which condiments we wanted with our food. The sliders were standard, but with surprisingly cold patties for how slow it seemed in the restaurant. The chicken wings were better and the sauce was perfectly spicy. I wouldn't consider Peppermill a legitimate dining option but would definitely come back to the bar. It was a lot of fun listening to the waitress' drink orders for their tables. Some of the highlights: White Russian, Colorado Bulldog (White Russian with Coke), and Hawaiian Sunrise. The bartender knew his stuff and wasn't phased by any order coming at him. I'd do this experience again anytime.
