  • JaBistro, in my opinion is highly underrated. The food is fresh, authentic, flavorful, and the portions are abundant for the price (specifically the sashimi platters) I have been to a few omakase style Japanese restaurants who charge over over $200US for a tasting menu, while JaBistro offers equal (and often better) quality dishes at half the price. O ya in NY and Boston is supposed to be one of the best Japanese Omakase restaurants, and to be honest, thought the food was good, i paid over $500 for a meal comparable to a $150 meal here. JaBistro is definitely my go to for authentic Japanese in Toronto.
