  • Like Fight Club, there are rules when it comes to Market Street Cafe: 1. Only go here after midnight 2. Must have drinks before going here... after midnight 3. Only order the Graveyard Special Ox Tail soup. Order anything else on the side, but ALWAYS GET THE OX TAIL SOUP NO MATTER WHAT. Believe me on #3. My husband ignored our group on his first visit, got a french dip sandwich, and spent the rest of time complaining about how disappointing it was. This after everyone told him over and over and over that his order had to be the soup. Guess what he's ordered almost every time since? Yep. He ordered a club sandwich last time. However, given that a club sandwich is on my list of "things I know I can make easily but am still willing to pay for at a restaurant," I won't hold it against him. If you visit at the stroke of midnight, expect a wait, Cinderella. The wait hasn't ever been too long, but if you're drunk or hungry, it will feel it. Now, assuming you order the soup, you won't wait long for food. It comes right out and gives instant satisfaction (AKA warm soup belly). The ox tail has never been anything but fall-off-the-bone tender and in plentiful portions. I've taken leftovers home at least twice because there was so much meat! The broth is great as is, but you can also add the cilantro and grated ginger that come with each order. For sure eat it with the accompanying side of rice. Service is quick and attentive. Once you're done eating, you can take the check right to the exit and pay at the register.
