| - We booked this room for CIAA weekend, Friday night, March 2, 2018 and checked out as soon as we woke Saturday morning. I've been in the area before, at a local restaurant, and never noticed that the hotel was there because it resembles a low income housing development. The pictures that they posted online did not depict this place accurately. As we were pulling up, there were people, who were clearly there selling drugs, on the adjacent streets and people loitering near the back building. There were drug addicts that were running in and out as well. I did not want to stay but all other reasonably priced hotels were booked in the area and we already drove 2 hours to get there and purchased tickets for our events.
This is the ONLY nice thing I can say. The young man that checked us in was very friendly and informative.
Once we were checked in and drove around to our building, I was extremely nervous to leave anything in our vehicle and apprehensive about leaving our vehicle out of our sight. We entered the building and immediately smelt marijuana. Our room was on the second floor so we had to take the stairs up which had the most disgusting smell of urine that they attempted to cover up with cleaning solution; which only made it worst. I did not feel safe at all walking up the stairs. There were several blind spots making me feel uncomfortable and nervous of who is around.
Once we entered the room, at face value it didn't seem bad but I did not want to remove my shoes at all and barely wanted to sit on the bed. The room directly across from us had to have been smoking marijuana because we could smell it all the way into our room.
We left the room to attend our event and took all of our belongings with us due to fear that the janky door could be broken in to and returned, reluctantly. It seemed to be quieter when we returned but we had to walk around the entire development to get into our building since we returned after hours and they don't allow entry by room key into the building. I was able to sleep for a while (until about 6 AM) until I woke to use the restroom and found roached crawling on the counter, behind the toilet and in the bathtub!! I don't do bugs and began to panic, woke my boyfriend and began to pack my belongings. We were out of that room at 8 AM didn't even go check out. Just left the keys in the room and left. I have never had such a terrible experience and wouldn't recommend this "crack motel" to my worst enemy.
