| - First off, I'm not from the PNW, but I'm definitely a big fan! This little market makes me feel like I'm being transported to New Seasons or Powell's in Portland! *Happy Thoughts!*
I actually came to Luci's because I found out they carry my favorite brand of Kombucha (yes, Dr. Brew, also from Portland......obviously starting to see a pattern now [insert emoticon here]) But, when we arrived it was PACKED, people eating everywhere! It was Valentine's Day, so I suppose the rush might have been expected (or maybe that's just the norm for a Saturday?) Either way, these people looked like they were really enjoying their food, so, what's a girl to do? Join the bandwagon, of course!
I ordered the 'Luci's Famous All Natural Burger' (sans cheese). Yes. Yes, I can see why it's 'Famous'..... I mean, absolutely DELISH.......SOOOO Juicy and flavorful.... in order to be a *perfect* burger, it just needed an ever so slight modification....yeah, that whole "bun to burger ratio" thing, this guy was SO Juicy that my bottom bun became sopped through with juices, meaning it fell apart! If that doesn't bother you, then you are at least in for a very delightful tasting experience! I would order again for sure (for this particular burger, I can live with the soggy bun). I also ordered the house salad with the lovely sounding citrus vinaigrette, but alas, my salad came out completely naked, so I didn't' get to taste it. They were far to busy to ask for a side of the dressing, so I'll just have to try it next time. (hence the docking of one star)
As per customer service, we met Neil, who is related to the owner. What a fantastic guy! Super friendly and helpful, I found out from him that I could actually buy a whole case of my beloved Kombucha and get an extra 10% off the case! PERFECT!!! Addiction is officially fed [big happy emoticon here] I believe they do this deal for various of your favorite beverages, not just the kombucha (I know not everyone is a fan, but boy they SHOULD be!)
The store itself has some of the regular things that health food stores offer, but they seem to be a little selective of what brands they choose to stock. I was very excited to find Maqui powder, something I keep checking for at Whole Foods and Sprouts, but usually to no avail. So, that was exciting. They also had a lot of cool odds and ends things - think Changing Hands meets Health Food Store - it makes for some fun browsing!
