  • Nevada Southern Railway is an engaging, historical activity available year round. The 40 minute round trip experience includes a ride inside an a passenger car, observation car or a special ride (e.g. with the engineer - see website for options and cost). Bring a coat or blanket of you plan to ride fall or winter and sit in the open air car. Events are scheduled seasonally. Weekly story time, Halloween Train and Santa Train are popular. My children have grown up riding this local train and each time is full of joy and learning. In the spring and summer, I pack a lunch and head for a Boulder City park after our ride. At Hemenway Park, 401 Ville Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005, meet and greet the Desert Big Horn Sheep. Yes! Live sheep, Nevada's State Land Mammal, migrate down from the mountains to graze and enjoy the climate. The Veteran's Memorial Park offers plenty of running space, huge splash pad, greenery, and huge splash pad. The parks are close, clean and provide an extension to a kid-friendly train experience.
