  • Horrible experience with Dr. Mathieson. I came in and clearly had a strep throat and just wanted antibiotics. The doctor collects a culture to test for strep but I have a strong gag reflex so the swab did not go all the way to the back of my throat. He tried twice then gave up. He then said it looks fine, just take some ibuprofen then you should be good to go. My tonsils were super inflamed and had tonsil stones. I highly doubt ibuprofen would do anything. That's like putting a band aid on a gunshot wound. The next day I go to a real hospital with a real doctor and they tell me I meet the four symptom criteria for a diagnosis of strep throat, where a culture is not even needed, and they gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I wasted 20 dollars co pay at the urgent care for nothing. I told Mathieson I was in the medical field but he was still super rude and condescending. I hate doing reviews, especially bad reviews, but this one was necessary.
