  • Had an incredible meal tonite at 5Church. Charred octopus & wasabi crusted tuna were delicious. Both dishes could be good but loved the added nuance that made these dishes great. The spice that pushed the octopus to another level & the wasabi crust on the tuna elevated an otherwise plain piece of tuna; yummy with that flavorful seaweed salad. Then there was dessert. I am not a sweet eater but hubby ordered the red velvet cake. The contrast of the salted pistachios w/ the cake was divine. Now to service. A+. From the friendly hostesses to the manager checking on tables. A special treat was our waitress Cathrine. Friendly & to top it off we once both lived on the same street in Chevy Chase, MD! Loved that the hostess offered to take our ticket out to the complimentary valet while we paid the bill. No waiting. A perfect evening for our 22nd wedding anniversary. Can't wait to return.
