  • I've eaten at St. Francis several times. Having said that, it's usually an overall good experience and the food is usually wonderful except for last night. Now it happens...sometimes restaurants just get it wrong one night, but last night...literally they got it all wrong. With hardly anyone in the place, we were made to wait 45 minutes for a table inside, and then we were sat by the door which was basically the same as sitting out in the heat. It took the waiter 15 minutes to even come our way and we gave him our whole order at once because, by then...we were starving. We both ordered salads but only mine came out first...i tried to find the server to ask where my date's salad was but he never came back. I had to ask a hostess (both of whom are super sweet and helpful) to get our waiter and have him get her salad. His response was...i thought that was your main course...what did we learn in school about assumptions? plus it doesn't matter if it was her main course...maybe she wants it right away? Use your words...ask your patrons what they prefer. One of the things I love about this place is that they use local veggies. Awesome right? Well...sometimes those veggies aren't great. It does happen but when we say hey, this salad doesn't taste right because the heirloom tomatoes taste mealy and overripe, you take that away and take it off my bill...you don't walk away, ignore us even more and pretend like you could give a shit. There is no more awkward feeling at a restaurant than having to confront your server because the food isn't right. You think I want to have to tell you that your 14$ salad tastes bad? No, I don't. You think I want to sit there and eat mine while my date sits there drinking water because she's been put off from eating anything else? No, I don't. As a business owner I have to say that one thing that just doesn't sit right with me is when your employees are not trained on what to do when someone has an issue with your service or product. It's simple, you remove it from the bill and see if they would like something else. No manager was anywhere to be found. No one but hostess came by to try to help us find another vegan option to eat. Seriously, if not for the professionalism of the hostesses, I'd never come back to this place after the other night's mess of a meal.
