This was a fantastic place to visit during one of our Ohio vacations!
There was ample parking and it was easy to find. We walked into the visitors center and were able to enjoy the exhibits about Garfield's life, which were well-done and informative. Before going on our house tour, we watched a film about the president's life, and I have to admit (spoiler alert) that I got a little teary when he was killed.
We then went on a house tour, and one room was more beautiful than the next. The tile in the dining room around the fireplace was lovely, and I loved seeing Molly's bedroom upstairs. The best part was the library on the top floor.
You don't have to be a history or museum geek to appreciate this home. If you are in any way interested in Victorian life, this is a nice little gem.
The gift shop had some great merchandise. When I asked if there was a book on Garfield's life, the clerk advised me that the best one she'd ever read was actually a graphic novel on Rick Geary. It sounds crazy, but it was a great little book. Also, if you've got a National Park passport, be sure to get it stamped!
