| - Went here with a friend because we were craving for something sweet after a delicious dinner. First impression- this place seemed pretty legit because the menu seemed extensive (so you have plenty of options between the rolled ice cream and boba drinks), staff was very nice (spent time to explain their items and had good manners), and place was well kept.
After spending like 10-15 minutes on deciding what I wanted, I got the bittersweet romance (grapefruit, jasmine tea, and honey) since I wanted something refreshing since I had a heavy meal. When I got the drink, it seemed pretty cool since there were 3 layers of colors (purple at the top, orange-red in the middle, and a muddy yellow at the bottom) and I figured okay well this seems cool, but the grapefruit portion looked a bit murky, but whatever. I took a sip (after mixing the drink of course) and all I tasted was a surge of bitterness and earthiness. I mixed my drink some more since the honey probably didn't mix too well, but my drink was still pretty sour and almost undrinkable. I love grapefruit (both the real thing and flavored drinks) so I know what to expect in general, but for some reason this drink was just bad. I didn't even finish 1/4 of the drink because it was just too bitter and sour and it had this weird murky taste that I can't even identify. I basically just threw my money out the door with this drink lol.
Overall, my experience at this place was not good because of my drink. I don't know if I would come back to try something else because there is a bunch of other stores in the area that would probably do a better job. I actually went to another place the next day and ordered a grapefruit drink and it was pretty delicious. Check out my other review about Sweetea for more details.
