| - An annual update from my 5 star review from 1 year ago.
We came back as we had a near perfect $400 dinner last year for our 45th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately this year was not a repeat. Here is the blow by blow...
1. My wife discovered the bathroom had no soap... mind you this was at first opening.
2. Service. We were the first table seated, and was done so immediately at opening. Water and menus presented at seating. After that the waiter disappeared for an extended time. Other guests had their orders taken quickly. In terms of service, our entrees came out about 20 minutes behind other guests... remember, we were literally the first ones seated. I finally had to ask about the status? Generically, the attention vs last year was night and day different.
3. Food: my wife had a Parmesan chicken dish., like last year. Presentation was AMAZING. It came with a lemon cream sauce, but the chicken was literally floating in it. She asked for a separate plate to drain off the excess. The lemon was also a bit overpowering. Last year I had the filet, but asked for a recommendation on the rib eye. He recommended a dry aged one. It was cooked nicely, but was a bit tough. Personally, I would stick with the filet. I also had the lobster tail, which was delicious, but at $85 was shockingly small. Independently, my wife observed how small it was...seemed at least 1/3 smaller than last year, and more expensive!!!
4. Lastly, my only issue last year, was the refill on a very small coke was another $5 like the first glass..... for 25 cents of soda, you are going to charge me ANOTHER $5? Restaurant responded here last year that they would address with management... I checked... still $5 for a refill.... on a $300 dinner...?? Waiter agreed it did not make sense.
Unfortunately, we will likely be looking for another great Vegas spot to have our 47th anniversary. Bookmark removed.
