  • I love spending a day at the zoo.. mid dec.. 70deg weather is ideal for a long day of walking .. the animals were moving .. ok some were napping but most were out being active in their enclosures The big cats (lions, tigers, jaguars) and the giraffes were my favorite.. I liked that the enclosures had shady areas and plenty of water for the animals.. and they appeared to be well maintained .. most of the animals had fresh fruit & veggies in their food bowls The map was very helpful.. additional signage would be great .. with all the twists and turns and dirt trails you didn't always realize how big this place is .. easy to miss something if you aren't paying attention like dragon world Bring quarters so you can buy food to feed some of the animals .. all the vending machines I saw were .50c.. feeding giraffes was so fun .. both adults and kids couldn't wait to have their turn at giraffes stretching their necks to lick the kibble out of their hand .. very cool Cons.. all the snack bars & rides are cash only.. I wasn't there for the rides but most were closed today (maybe seasonal??) .. and needs more signage I will definitely be back (we got four miles of walking in this day )!!
