Tsujiri is a tiny store that only seats about 10 people. I've heard a lot about the place and wanted to find out if the hype was worth it. We came around 2pm on a Thursday afternoon and there were about 5 people in line, but we almost had to stand outside because the place was so tiny!
Lining up and waiting for the order took quite a long time. They work very hard but the size of the store is really what dragged them down. Too many orders and a small work station = long waits and long lines. I ordered a Tsujiri Sundae (mixed) and my friend ordered shaved ice. The sundae was about $8 with tax and my friend's came out to $9 I believe. I do think that this is a bit pricey for what I received. The sundae was small and came with a small cookie, a chestnut (?), and this other Mochi-like object. It was most likely my own tastes, but I did not like any of them. It was a particular taste that did not appeal to me. The only edible thing to me was the ice cream and at the bottom it was like... I can't even explain it; it's like rice krispies but it had a slight burnt taste to it so when I got to the bottom it wasn't tasty. I enjoyed the texture though. The ice cream itself was good... But it didn't blow my mind or anything.
If I come again, I would opt for the simple cone with matcha ice cream and I want to try the matcha cream puff. My friend and I both agreed it was a "meh" experience. If you really like matcha and Asian desserts, definitely give it a try and see for yourself, but I wouldn't wait for more than 15 minutes for Tsujiri. 3/5
