  • I received a check from a member, and stoppped in today to cash it. Being fairly new to the area and thinking that an account at a nearby credit union could be just the kind of thing we need to get established, my husband accompanied me. Walking in, heading all the way to the back, you're faced with a left or right side choice. Both employees to the right were busy with customers, both to the left with each other, so we stopped and waited to be called forward. A female employee from the left side told us someone would be with us soon. When she finished her business, she left the area, walking up to us on her way by, we thought for an introduction. Nope, not at all. Instead, she walks up to my (52 year old) husband and says 'do you mind removing your hat while you're in the bank' yes, like many men his age he wears a baseball cap. To the casinos, to the grocery and yes, for our usual trips to the bank. He removed his hat and then himself from the building. I waited. Finally the cashier on the right was finished with his customer and called me forward. I presented my drivers license and the check. Not good enough. Do you have a credit card? I have another id with a photo. No we NEED a credit card. Hmmm. Fine, i present a card. Now he has my state issued drivers license and my credit card, and walks away! I thought maybe he needed authorization. I was incorrect. He made a photocopy of my drivers license and my credit card and at no time asked me if he could, to do so. These photocopies were not presented to me at anytime, they were folded and put in a drawer. I was asked to sign both the check and an electronic pad, at which time he asked 'what does that say?' (It looked like the signature on my drivers license) he counted out my funds and said have a nice day. I will have a nice day, and i will let anyone interested enough to read this review know they shoild look elsewhere to find a friendly banking institution. We will be driving 6 miles further to check out a Navy Federal Credit Union tomorrow. I will not accept a check drawn on this credit union again. If i could give 1/10 a star based on their friendliness, i would.
