I have lived here for 2 years now and was planning on living here another year or so until I got my renewal notice. I really enjoy it here and was sad it went up so much and the office wasn't willing to work something out.
I'm all about pro and con lists so here we go:
PROS-
Probably the best layout I've ever seen in an apartment. Huge kitchen and bathroom.
Really nice grounds, well maintained (the new owners have helped with this improvement).
Quiet neighbors, also don't get cigarette smoke smell from smoking neighbors.
Awesome maintenance staff. Seriously, awesome.
No bugs. Seriously, maybe 2 in my time here.
The pools and pool areas are nice as well.
The location is decent. It's a drive to most places but I think that's what helps make it quiet.
Front office staff has been pleasant even with changing companies.
CONS-
Outside lighting never works (I go to the gym at 4am-creepy city!)
Older appliances and fixtures as well as cheap Windows (the sun pours in around noon and during summer my electric bill is so high)
The walls are thin (as they are in most apts)
Mesquite high is so close you can hear marching band, games and bells.
The rent increase was kind of ridiculous from what I started renting at 2 years ago. I get it though, new management.
Overall, you should tour it. You'll probably fall in love. I'm sad to be leaving here and that I have to start apartment hunting all over again.
