| - My wife and I stayed here from 5/12-5/16.
If I could use one word for Red Rock it would be "Uneven". I think we would probably stay there again but we certainly weren't blown away.
Rooms are beautiful. We stayed in a normal king room with a 'canyon view' (facing the mountains) and it was great. Clean, plenty big and great bathroom.
Casino was large and we did okay in it so they aren't tight. Plenty of space and lots of games.
Pool was beautiful and we had no issue getting chairs at any time of day. GUY BONUS: Servers wear the obligatory tiny bikini but the lifeguards also wear pretty much the same thing. Lots of hot employees walking around :)
Service was very, very uneven why I only give a rating of 3 stars. We are by no means snobs but for the nightly rate as well as the crazy high $28 resort fee, we expect more.
Here's a breakdown of service:
-Valet service: AWESOME. We never waited more than 4 minutes from the time we handed them the ticket to getting in our car and there was always some there.
-Maintenance:GOOD. We had an issue with our curtains and they were there to fix it within 10 minutes of calling.
-Grand Cafe: OKAY. A typical casino restaurant where there are 20 empty tables yet a line that is 10 deep at all times. The $3.99 Cheesburger/Fries special was good but the bug in my wife's $8 drink was not. They promptly replaced it (why not comp it?) but it didn't make a good impression.
-Buffet: OKAY. There was a line but it moved efficiently. Servers were okay, not great, not awful. Food was fresh and never ran out. And for those who complaining about your $4.99 breakfast, just STOP. Was it Bellagio or Paris with a bunch of hoidy toidy choices? No. But it had all the staples of a good breakfast and more. My God, are you forgetting that you just paid $13 for a drink at the pool yet are complaining about paying $5 for an entire breakfast spread?!?!?
-Front Desk: OKAY, but not at all friendly. I kind of felt like all the ladies working were being bothered by helping the guests. They weren't total b*tches but I certainly didn't feel like they were welcoming either.
-Casino Drink Service: NONEXISTENT. I'm okay with low-rent places like Circus Circus and Casino Royale not offering quick drink service but we sat in the casino a few times for more than 2 hours and we might have seen a server twice. Ridiculous that they can't have a couple more people on the floor.
-Pool Service: AWFUL ONE DAY, OKAY ANOTHER. I'm sorry but if I'm paying $7 for a bud light and you're automatically adding a 20% tip, how about coming around more than once every 30 minutes? When we asked for our check it took 25 minutes before we finally got up and left. For some reason the bartender couldn't help either but mentioned that at least 10 other people had complained that day. To top this off, they still charged our room (why do they need everyone to sign if they're just going to charge you anyway?) even though we called them immediately after the bad service and they said they would not charge us and would notate our account. They ended up taking it off when we checked out but again, it's just a little bit more hassle.
-Housekeeping: SLOW. Of the 4 days that housekeeping made up our room, there was only one day that it was done before 3PM. That's not acceptable especially when the hotel was not even 50% full. They did a nice job but they took forever. Additionally, when I called them to bring up a missing remote for the radio, they never came so I had to call the front desk.
BOTTOM LINE: Nice property but service needs to improve, especially for the price.
