| - I have come to the Grey Goat on numerous occasions with my girlfriend for some nightlife fun.
It looks like an old colonial house on a hill, right on Main Street in Newmarket. Note, you need to walk up a good amount of stairs to get to it. (I have also observed some people having a good amount of difficulty walking down them at the end of the night .. wink wink).
So, you walk up these stairs and the most wonderful patio opens up. They have various tables and levels set up, and over to one side, they have patio lounge chairs under a massive tree. It's very nice.
The crowd is a mix of young and old... with some older regulars, some middle aged folks, and even packets of young people. There always seems to be security there watching over the place, but they are extremely friendly ... introduce themselves etc, which I thought was fantastic.
The staff is very friendly.
Thursday nights is Karaoke and I must advise... it gets a little bit crazy, but it's a hootin' hollerin good time. I have not tried the food here, but have been told that it is delicious... and it looks delicious too.
It's pretty small inside, but it's cozy. Note... you cannot bring alcohol onto the patio after 11:45 for some bilaw.
Overall, a quality place and a great patio.
