I came to pickup a SIM card for an old phone.
That's what I wanted to say when the customer service agent began telling me what we "cannot do." The reason this bothers me is that I already spend 2 hours with a rep over the phone working out what we need to do, and how it will work. The rep had been in the back room for almost 10 minutes to return to tell me that they don't just give our SIM cards without charging for it. They also want to charge me $40 for the line per month when I have already discussed this with customer service over the phone. I was assured no extra charges, but this location has always had an attitude about what they can and cannot do.
I walked out saying, "No. You're not going to charge me extra. I'll call directly."
Went to my car. Sat in the parking lot while i contacted customer service. They confirmed that there was no reason for them to do that except that it sounded like they were locking me into an additional 2-year contract.
Got my need taken care of with the Verizon Global team (800 number). No extra charges, and we're good to go.
