I can't remember how I discovered macarons, but ever since I've discovered them I've always hunted for them no matter where I go (especially if its a French place I'm going).
I had previously tried La Maison du Macaron in Montréal and then found out about Point G. In addition to having a larger variety of flavours than Maison du Macaron, they also serve gelatos and ice cream. I also saw Foie Gras Glâcé?
However, I think that variety and better packaging (from the standpoint of preservation are the pros that Point G have over MdM. Their macarons are too "soft" for my liking. The cookie isn't flaky on the outside, and they are also smaller than the ones at MdM.
Honourable mentions of flavours:
Balsamic Vinegar
Lime Basil
Lavender Blueberry
Chocolate Sesame
I would recommend coming here over MdM ONLY if you're bringing some home for gifts because the packaging is more durable.
