  • I really wasn't sure what to expect during my first True Food experience. I had read the reviews and they made me a little wary of the service at this location. The menu also didn't sound that great to me. I have to say that I pleasantly surprised with my overall experience. Our service was excellent and that's saying something since one of my dining partners is a bit picky and not afraid to speak his mind. He's not the easiest to please and even he seemed happy with his experience. I ordered the acai mojito to start and it was pretty decent for a mojito. My husband had one of their non alcoholic drinks (I think a lemonade of some kind) and thought it was okay, but nothing too thrilling. I was really unsure of what food to try and kept changing my mind. When our server gave us his suggestions I thought it was pretty entertaining that he chose the sea bass and the salmon...the two most expensive items on the menu. Uhhh...no thanks. I decided to go for organic tomato and roasted kale pizza. Luckily, our server informed me right away that it didn't have cheese on it. Shouldn't it say that on the menu? I'll pass on a pizza without cheese...isn't that the whole point anyway? I decided to go with the ricotta cheese ravioli (another expensive menu item). My fellow diners ordered the miso soup (he sent it back because it wasn't hot enough...but keep in mind he's not the easiest to please), the turkey bolognese, and the teriyaki brown rice bowl with tofu. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. So I know what you're wondering...why the three stars if you had good service and good food? After eating my meal, I really felt like I had been a little jipped. I received a very small amount of ravioli in my dish and I am not a big eater. I know they're using a high quality of food and that comes at a higher price, but the price just didn't match the meal. I've been to plenty of restaurants around town that use fresh, local ingredients and their prices just aren't as steep. Even though the food was tasty, the service was great, and the decor was lovely, I won't be rushing back.
