I have been to the Tipsy Cow twice, the first time was a few years ago. At the time we got cheese curds, which I thought were on par with some of the best in town-fresh and delicious. I also had a warm sandwich with Turkey and Havarti on it, also delicious! Now that was some time ago and I have always held the restaurant in high regard even though I hadn't made my way back.... until recently. I don't know if their food has gone downhill or if these particular items I had this time were always lame. We stopped in for a beer and a couple appetizers to get out of the cold, we ordered pretzels w/ cheese and a basket of buffalo french fries. Expecting some homemade pretzel and cheese dip, we were presented with 4 store-bought, frozen pretzels. We paid $9 for 4 of the exact pretzels I could have bought at Woodman's for $2.29. The fries were OK, they were generic waffles fries you can get at most bars- very tasty for sure but nothing special. Good fries that were drenched in Frank's Red Hot and a blue cheese salad dressing. They were fine, I guess, but I expected and hoped for something a little more thoughtful in the menu and food. Good beer selection though!
