Roundabout Brewery is my favorite brewery in Pittsburgh. Also, it's a local brewery, which makes me even more proud of its awesomeness.
Great service and great beer.
Where they lack in variety, they make up for in unique, pronounced flavors. Some breweries will make a beer and say "there's cardamom inside this beer," and you just have to take their word for it because you can't taste it or it's not given a chance to shine. Roundabout's beers are flavorful with complex combinations complimenting each other. I would write a review about specific beers, but seriously, go forth and discover! Every beer is unique and the only unifying theme is how much flavor is condensed into every sip.
My favorite beer thus far from Roundabout is their Bourbon barrel stout. It was fantastically smooth and rich.
You can take most of their beers home. They sometimes sell out of certain beers quickly (Earl Grey tea ale, I will someday be with you again). Sometimes, they make a small barrel and you have to drink it there. The beers are priced well, better than most bars in Pittsburgh.
Another major plus: their service is friendly and helpful.
I come here often to discover whatever they have brewing. Every time is a perfect experience and my tastebuds are happy.
