*UPDATE: I spoke with Jerry and he was able to refund the amount I paid to get my leather bag cleaned and assured me that the employees I dealt with will be talked to to try and prevent this kind of thing again. Because Jerry was nice enough to follow up and try to correct the issue, I have updated my review to 3 stars. I appreciate the customer service I received from him.
I was very disappointed with my experience at Lapels. I called ahead and asked about getting a leather handbag cleaned and was assured that they could do that for me. When I went in to drop it off, the 2 women at the front acted like it was some kind of ordeal to actually send my bag out to get cleaned! They were very rude and not at all helpful. Against my better judgement, I still left my bag and a pair of slacks to get cleaned. The slacks came back great, no problems there. However, my handbag looks and smells like it was never touched. I paid a pretty penny to have it cleaned and it looks exactly how it did when I dropped it off. They gave me a sticker that said they couldn't get all the spots out because it may damage the garment but, I really wish they would have called me to tell me before just proceeding with NOTHING and charging me full price for it! It still has coffee stained on the strap that are just flakey stuff, easily cleaned, there is no way they even touched it!!! I wish I would have spent more time actually inspecting the bag before I walked out of there.
