| - I hate to write bad reviews, but I am literally blown away with how bad the sushi was from here. My husband has been wanting to try this place for a while, so we took the opportunity to order a bunch of rolls from here since we have family in town.
First of all, when my husband called to place the order, they told him it would be ready in 15min....which seemed pretty fast for a Saturday night, but whatever. My husband shows up 20min later, only to end up sitting there waiting for the food to be ready for ANOTHER 55min (which means it was an hour and fifteen minutes from when he called, as opposed to the fifteen minutes he was originally told). Sadly, the odd wait and takeout situation wasn't even the worst part.
I've had really great sushi before (at a few different places in Charlotte), and I've also had really bad sushi. Now, I get that sushi taste can be sometimes subjective; but there are some things that everyone can agree are just bad. This food was one of those times. How do you screw up a shrimp tempura roll?? It wasn't even that it was takeout of a fried item, it was clearly WAY over cooked, and had brown avocado. Just nasty. And the rolls we had that contained tuna (or I should say were supposed to contain spicy tuna) actually looked like there was dried cheap canned tuna in them. When you spit a bite of something out, and throw the remaining entire roll into the trash, it's BAD. I've never been so embarrassed about our food choices before, but I was mortified that every persons sushi rolls were basically inedible. We ordered 8 rolls + a bento box...how you can have that bad statistical probability that all of it was that bad?
Which brings me to my question: how on EARTH were they as busy as they were, and how do they have 4stars on yelp, if their food is this bad?
I'm lost. But you literally couldn't pay me good money to eat here ever again. Sad.
Side note: because I'm desperately trying to find something positive about this place, their side sauces were good. Also, the way that they packaged up our order was very nice.
