| - While I normally do not write reviews, I felt compelled to do such for my horrible experience at Volkswagen south Charlotte. As a first time car buyer I went to this Volkswagen dealership with the intent to buy a preowned certified car. However with most car salesmen, I was guided towards leasing a new 2017 Jetta. After back and forth I decided a lease would be fine with my credit score of 740, 3000$ down payment and a 3 year lease. That same day I drove off the lot with said 2017 car. 3 weeks later I receive a call from the dealership informing me that due to the length of my credit history I would not be able to keep that car. A brand new car that I had put 300+ miles on was now going back to the dealership after signing papers, taking my 700 in cash and my credit card information. Prior to returning my car they informed me I would be able to trade it in for a car exactly like mine but a 2014 preowned certified. Once I arrived to the dealership I was presented with a car to that drive. This car was a different interior and exterior color than the one I previously chose, it also lacked the sunroof, car stereo, back up camera and more that I had made very clear was a MUST for me. After testing g driving the car 3 car salesmen took me to an office where they asked me to sign a new contract that was, and I quote "the same exact contract with a different vin number." Feeling pressured and corned as a 19 year old female first time car buyer I signed the contract. I was never given the option of a refund or another car. Prior to returning the car the gentleman in charge of car financing at this dealership sent me a written statement that I would have an extended warranty for the length of my loan (6 years.) While I did not like the car I felt that the warranty made up for the disappointing situation the dealership put me through. Fast forward 2 months later and the man who gave me that written statement has been fired due to him allowing me to drive off with a brand new car. The dealership did not keep their word on my warranty and I now have a preowned car that has several issues. First of the issues is a fuse that I have had to take back to Volkswagen 3 times now. The fuse has been blown 3 separate times within 2 months of me purchasing the car. The car is leaking oil and after further inspection the car history states the oil leak was present prior to them selling me the car however it was not handled properly. Within 48 hours of bringing my "replacement car" home the battery was dead and needed to be jumped. This issue happened once again 2 weeks after the first time. The ac in the car does not blow cool air if the remap tire outside is over 80 degrees. In attempts to rectify the situation one last time I went to the dealership today where I was informed all the issues on my car are going to have to be covered by my expense even though i purchased the car less than 5 months ago. The man who sold me my car goes by the name Spiro, the man who got fired over selling me the first car is named Joe and the man who went back on his agreement to give me my warranty, refuses to take any blame in this situation is named Fadi. I hope this review can be a warning to anyone looking to purchase a Volkswagen! If you do chose to still buy a VW please do not go to this dealership. The ideology of sleazy car salesmen can be symbolized by this dealership location. Do not be fooled by their nice behavior at first, it will quickly disappear once you hand over your card info!
