I find most people in this neighborhood to be extremely rude, bigoted, stuck-up and unpleasantly pretentious for no reason.
which is why I was so startled by my wonderful experience at the pie shack.
the owner is very nice, and he makes fucking awesome homemade pie. For $6 you get a big piece of delicious pie. it is so worth it. I had the bumbleberry and it does taste in tune with old style mennonite and grandmother pie.
it's a nice little store with some cool tables and cards, nice cozy atmosphere for stuffing your face with pie with an old friend.
Again, the owner is a very nice man who will help you with whatever you might need. I'm pretty sure this is the warmest and most genuine service I have had in Toronto, especially in the beaches.
I was sort of shocked by how tiny the bathroom is. It's a tiny closet with a sink and toilet and the door can only open about halfway before hitting the sink. I'm a skinny guy and I could barely fit in, how do his best customers, who I assume are fat pie vacuuming blimps manage to use this washroom?
great place though. I love a good pie.
