| - I bought a WagJag coupon to get a massage from this 'spa'. It's in a hot 2nd floor location, run by a woman who started out by letting me know I was late (I was 5 minutes early). She told me I should have read her website because it says you're supposed to come early!
She then had me fill out many pages of info, most of which had been photocopied from a 'Spas for Dummies' guide.
I had asked for an extra reflexology treatment to add to my massage, at her insistence, but then she suggested I change. I did, to a cuticle treatment, and then while I had my feet soaking she told me I needed something else.
She then went on about how the massage would not be effective because my skin was so dry, I should really get a scrub (the coupon was for a massage). I told her didn't have time. She chewed on that for a while then came up with a solution - scrub today, come back for massage!
She kept on and on about how happy all her customers were when they had the scrub etc etc. It was so important to have a scrub, the massage was useless without a scrub, on and on. Finally after she bugged me continually for the whole foot treatment i gave in and substituted the scrub for the massage. She told me she could do both but I really didn't have the time.
She put my on a plastic bag covered table and put a big heating pad on me - during the Toronto heat wave, in her second floor room with no air conditioning. I was already sweating before the heating procedure.
After 5 minutes I called her in and said I was read- it was unbelievably hot. She told me I probably wasn't ready, but put oil on me anyway, scrubbed me down, and that was that.
I got my clothes back on and went out to the front room, and there was another customer (coupon in hand) waiting. I don't know what she was talking about that she had time to do these extra things. It ended up costing me $150 (after her 'discounts') to not get what I went in for. I basically got a pedicure - in which she cut my cuticle with a dremmel (she told me I moved while she was using it so it cut me- my fault obviously), and a loofa scrub. I was charged for the 'extra' treatment I got while my feet were in a pail of water.
She harasses you mercilessly until you buy more to make her stop. It is the MOST unrelaxing spa treatment I have ever had.
Mercifully, WagJag refunded my coupon thank God, I will never go back.
