| - This place is located in the EpiCentre in Charlotte, so the location was pretty convenient for us as we were staying at the Omni next door. Like other restaurants in the EpiCenter, the restaurant is designed with a club / trendy attitude in mind. So if you enjoy a nice lounge & restaurant combo place, you'll feel right at home. Service here was pretty good as well.
Decor and service get the high marks, but unfortunately the food was a slight bit disappointing. Perhaps our expectations were incorrectly set by the server - she told us they serve really fresh fish, but that's just not the case at all.
I had the Red Dragon Roll (basically spicy tuna & eel, along with other "toppins"), but the eel was really rubbery. The pairing sauce was pretty good, but the eel just sort of ruined it. Then came the scallops. if you want to know if a place has fresh fish, try their toro (fatty tuna) or scallops. Server thought they had the toro, then came back and said it "wasn't cut" - translation: it's still frozen. Fail. Then I went with the scallops - not bad, but barely passing. However, we did have the shrimp tempura for app, and that was pretty good.
Pricing - this place is definitely over-priced. Not even downtown Chicago would charge their prices and we have better quality food. So come here only if you are looking to impress a date (but don't expect to do it with the food). =)
