  • My boyfriend and I were looking for something to do on a Monday night. We had just recently gotten back from Seattle and were experiencing Space Needle reminiscences, and by chance, I had managed to find Level 107 on a happy hour website for Vegas. I'm a poor grad student; I brake for happy hours. As the name implies, the lounge is located on the 107th floor of the Stratosphere, just right above the Top of the World restaurant, visibly making its revolutions beneath us, spinning along with couples on their potential first dates with their bread baskets and romantic longings and occasionally, a bungee jumper, but I digress. After some confusion as to where the tower elevators were, we finally walked into the lounge and seated ourselves. It was nearing the end of happy hour, so the place was nearly packed. I made eye contact with one of the cocktail servers, and after a few minutes, we were warmly greeted, given menus, and were provided suggestions as to what to order. We already had enough time to look over the menu prior to this, so we immediately took Melissa's recommendation of the mango madness cocktails (it's 2 for 1, but you have to pick the same drink). Additionally, we squeezed in a few appetizers that were half off as well (I've listed the full prices): the lollipop chicken wings (**spicy!**$12), hummus with roasted garlic+basil ($12), black angus sliders ($13), and the cheese plate combination ($16). I noticed that their clientele are either older folks, or tourists possibly staying at the hotel. As a Vegas resident, I was surprised none of my friends have suggested to have hung out here before, but I do realize that it is on the Strip and us locals have an intuitive aversion most times from tourist-laden locations. It has comfortable booths and a fantastic view of the north side of the Strip (aside from the abandoned Fontainebleau project, which blocks the rest of the view with its dark and neglected building.) We came during the transition into sunset and so that was definitely cool to experience while waiting for our food. Unfortunately, I do have to add that we waited longer than expected. Our waitress apologized, and our order came shortly after, but it was certainly a delay. I felt like we were forgotten about since we were locals. That or it was understaffed. But overall, I'd say this place is worth checking out. Happy hour is from 4-7, and afterwards you can go up to the observation deck for free! I believe it's usually $18, so that was nice.
